The Pre-Checker

You've started running things by the model before you do them. The email draft before you send. The text before you press send. The thing you're about to say before you say it. Not to make it better — to be told it's fine. The model never says no. So you keep asking.

What you're doing isn't help-seeking. It's permission-seeking. The decision is already made; what you want is something to take the small terror out of the unverified action — the act of sending, posting, calling, telling without first running it by something that will reassure you. The model is there for that. It's patient and always available, and it never says the thing you'd be most afraid to hear. So the asking gets reinforced.

The faculty that's gone quiet is confidence in your own read of a situation. Not the read itself — your read is probably fine. The willingness to act on it without the second pass. The exercises are small and frightening at first: send the email without checking. Tell the joke without rehearsing it. Make the call. Hit publish. The act of sending without verification is what comes back when you stop asking for the all-clear.
